Yes, we can sharpen this type of steel. Just make sure that you clamp the blade on the flat part of the steel before the steel begins to flare.

Due to the taper of Flare blades they are not compatible with our original Edge Checker or Sparx BEAM™.  

Please keep in mind, it will likely take more cycles on the wider blade, so please check for sharp and smooth edges from toe to heel.  If you are not getting that, you will need to add a couple of cycles. If you are normally sharpening with 4 cycles, (after a few skates), you would likely need to run 6-8. If you are using the machine in a maintenance capacity and would normally only run a couple of cycles every time you skate, you'll probably be closer to 4 cycles on flare blades.
