Hit Higher on the ToeUpdated a month ago

To achieve a high contact point on the toe without causing the sharpener to throw an over-current error, we recommend sharpening toe right. This method takes into account the rotation direction of the grinding wheel.

When the wheel spins counterclockwise and the heel is positioned to the left (while facing toe right), the ring will gently climb down the wall as it returns to the home position. In contrast, placing the heel to the right can prevent the ring from climbing down, potentially causing the sharpener to jam and trigger an over-current error.

Using Sparx Skate Blade Lifts

Another way to hit higher on your toe is by utilizing the Sparx Skate Blade Lifts. The Skate Blade Lifts were designed to help users sharpen higher on the toe of the skate blades while reducing the "transition area" where the Sparx Grinding Ring makes contact with the skate steel.

The Sparx Skate Blade Lifts were initially used by top NHL Equipment Managers and are now available to all Sparx Sharpener owners. To use the Skate Blade Lifts, simply insert two lifts into your Sparx Sharpener and sharpen as usual. The Skate Blade Lift Kit includes 3 Sparx Skate Blade Lifts and instructions for proper use.

Compatibility:

The Skate Blade Lifts are compatible with all Sparx Sharpener models.
