What is Error 90 and How to Fix ItUpdated 7 hours ago

Error Code 90 means that the firmware update didn’t complete successfully. This can happen if the connection between your phone and the Sharpener is interrupted during the update or if your Wi-Fi or cell signal is weak during the update. 


How to Fix It:

  1. Close the Sparx Hockey App (not just minimize, but close).
  2. Turn the sharpener off for 5 seconds, then power back on.
  3. Ensure good Wi-Fi or cell signal on your phone. Weak signal will cause the 90 error to keep showing.
  4. Open app and connect to sharpener. Stay in the app during the update. Don’t let your phone screen go to sleep or switch to other apps.
  5. Keep the phone close to the sharpener during the update. Do not walk away with phone.
  6. If the update did not appear automatically, try the firmware update again by tapping the gear icon in the top right corner of the Sharpen Screen, then selecting “Firmware Update”.


If you still see the error, try powering the Sharpener off and back on, then repeat the steps above.
